Common Browser-Related Issues

fu3e is a browser-based app, so at times, you may encounter issues that are specific to certain browsers. Since we use internet browsers every day, it's helpful to be aware of common browser-related issues that you might come across, as these often have simple solutions.

Here are some common browser-related issues:

  • Slow page loads or app performance
  • Trouble viewing or editing your data. You may see an error message or the page looks odd.
  • Browser crashing

How to Test If an Issue Is Browser Related

If you want to check if the issue you're experiencing is specific to your browser, you can try logging in to fu3e using a different browser and see if the same problem occurs. If the behaviour is different in the new browser, then the issue is likely browser-specific, however, please be aware additional 3rd party hardware or software may also impact your browsers behaviour.

Browser Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Restart your device.
  3. Make sure you are using a supported browser and that your browser is up to date (Chrome, Safari and Edge are our top recommended browsers)
  4. Refresh your cache and restart your browser. This is often all you need to resolve basic issues!
  5. Try accessing fu3e in a Private or Incognito window, like Chrome's Incognito Mode, Edge's InPrivate mode or Safari's Private Window. This opens a fresh browser window without any extensions or settings blocking your content.
    • If you are opening a page from a bookmark, such as a stored help article, try opening it by finding the article directly instead. In some cases, if a page has been updated since it was bookmarked, you may see an error when you attempt to load the bookmarked page.
  6. Try out a different browser (Chrome, Edge, etc). Sometimes the issue can be browser-specific.
  7. Try a different device or computer (mobile phone, tablet, PC/Mac laptop/desktop, etc.). It is rare, but sometimes a certain device has trouble with a content type.
  8. Restart your device
